- As of macOS 10.13, you must authorize the Symantec Endpoint Protection kernel extension after installation for Symantec Endpoint Protection to fully function. You are prompted during the client installation to do it if needed. If you do not do it during the client installation, go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy, and click Allow. Neither Symantec Endpoint Protection nor the Mac operating system continue to remind you that you must do this.

Intrusion Prevention (IPS) is available in version 12.1.4 and later.
Device Control
Device Control is available in version 14 and later. You can only enable Device Control for managed clients.
Firewall
Mac client versions earlier than 14.2 do not include a firewall.
IPS was introduced in version 12.1.4, but broader firewall support (e.g. traffic rules) and feature parity with the Windows product was not included until version 14.2 and later. This firewall is only available to managed clients.

14.2 introduced basic PAC file management to the SEP for Mac client.

Remove the agent from the computer
- On the affected computer, navigate to the uninstall program for your version of Windows.
- Uninstall Symantec.cloud.
Remove the computer from the console and run uninstall tools
Deleting the computer in the console avoids duplicate entries when reinstalling the agent on the computer.
- In the SEP SBE Cloud management console, navigate to the Computers tab.
- In the list of computers, check a computer, and then click the red trash icon (e.g. Delete Computer). Alternatively, click the drop-down to the right of a computer, and then click Delete Computer.
- Run the tool appropriate for the computer's operating system:
- Windows Desktops / Laptops:
- Download and run the Norton Removal Tool following all on-screen instructions.
- Download and run the Cloud Endpoint Diagnostic and Removal (CEDAR) tool, following all on-screen instructions.
- Windows Servers:
- Extract the file.
- Run CleanWipe.exe, following all on-screen prompts.
- Windows Desktops / Laptops:
- Restart the computer.
In some cases it may be necessary to run the Norton Removal Tool on desktops or CleanWipe on servers if problems are encountered uninstalling or reinstalling. Both are linked at the bottom of this article.
Remove folders left behind after an uninstall
Delete the following folders, if they still exist on the affected computer:
- C:Program FilesSymantec.cloud
- C:ProgramDataSymantec.cloud
- C:ProgramDataNorton (I can't remove the Norton folder)
Note: 'Program Data' is a hidden folder. See Show hidden files at Microsoft.com.
Also note that if you cannot remove any of the afore mentioned folders, you can use the instruction on our Cannot remove folder article. Change the directory path to the folder needing to be deleted. This process may also require a restart if 'System' has locked any files or folders in the requested folders to be deleted.
Remove registry keys left behind after an uninstall
Delete the following registry keys, if they still exist on the affected computer:
